Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries People over 16 years of age may request participation in the process. Those people who have not reached the age of 18 will need the consent of their parents or those who legally hold parental authority, and must provide the corresponding authorization duly signed. Second. Object and purpose The Festivities Department of the Ponferrada City Council calls for a procedure for the granting of prizes to the participants in the parades with giants and big heads, on the occasion of the patron saint festivities of ENCINA 2023. Third. Regulatory Bases General Subsidies Ordinance in the Ponferrada City Council, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of León on March 5, 2005. Fourth. Amount In order to encourage citizen participation in this traditional activity of the Encina festivities, the Ponferrada City Council will grant direct subsidies to the people who are selected to carry the Gigantes and Cabezudos, for which it will be a necessary condition that the minimum number of outings they make, whether in parades or other festive events and whether as a Giant or as a Cabezudo, is four. The following scale is established to determine the subsidy to be granted: - Giants: for a minimum of 4 outings, €228.00, and may reach a maximum of €285.00. Depending on your participation and interest in the scheduled activity. - Big heads: for a minimum of 4 departures, €120.00, and can reach a maximum of €150.00. Depending on your participation and interest in the scheduled activity. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications Until August 31, 2023, with the City Council reserving the power to extend this period if it considers it appropriate. Sixth.
