Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries 1. Natural or legal persons, groups of natural or legal persons, communities of property or any other type of economic unit or separate property without legal personality who are owners of an agricultural holding and who are committed to improving the landscape value, reducing possible impacts on the environment and natural heritage, and meet the following requirements may be beneficiaries of this aid: a) The agricultural holding must have a professional farmer (PA). AP is the natural person who, as the owner of an agricultural holding, obtains at least 50% of his total income from agricultural activities (including the transformation itself) or other complementary activities, provided that the part of income coming directly from the agricultural activity is not less than 25% of his total income, and the volume of work dedicated to agricultural and complementary activities is equal to or greater than half an annual work unit. Complementary activities: the transformation and direct sale of products from the farm that, once produced, are not included in Annex 1 of the TEU, the conservation of the natural space and protection of the environment, agrotourism, hunting and craft activities related to the farm. The participation and presence of the holder, as a consequence of the public election, in representative institutions or in representative bodies of a union, cooperative or professional nature, provided that these are linked to the agricultural sector. b) The activity of the exploitation must generate, at least, 1 unit of agricultural work (UTA). For orchard and/or fruit farms exclusively, a minimum of 0.5 ATU must be generated (Annex V). c) The farm must be registered in the Interinsular Agrarian Registry (RIA) and the data that appears will be used as a basis to calculate the requirements to be able to apply for the CARB (it will be verified ex officio). d) Farms that apply for CARB must have a maximum livestock density of 1.5 livestock units per hectare (UBM/ha) (Annex V). e) Livestock farms must comply with the livestock waste management plan, which must take into account the number and species of livestock on the farm, pasture rotations, stabling hours, waste distribution, etc. This plan must have been prepared by a competent technician (Annex I) and must be presented at the time of justifying the aid granted, provided that it has not been previously presented. f) The farm undertakes not to use transgenic corn seeds or other plants in any of the crops it grows, nor for livestock self-consumption, nor for sale, nor on an experimental basis (Annex I). 2. The owner of an agricultural holding is understood to be any natural or legal person, groups of natural or legal persons, communities of property or any other type of economic unit or separate property without legal personality that agriculturally exploits one or more rural properties. 3. The requirements provided for in point 1 of this article must be met prior to the end date of the application submission period and must be maintained until the aid justification period ends. Only one application can be submitted per farm and farmer. Second. Purpose The purpose of the call for aid is to establish compensation for the owners of agricultural and livestock farms for their contribution to the recovery and maintenance of biodiversity and to preserve the traditional rural landscape, of high environmental and cultural value. The compensation for the owners of the holdings will be based on the non-productive actions carried out from the publication of the call until July 31, 2024. Third. Regulatory bases The call will be governed by the bases approved by the Executive Council of the Island Council of Menorca in an ordinary session on 16.10.2023. Room. Amount The maximum global amount of the call is €1,100,000 (one million one hundred thousand euros). Fifth.
