Call for short film section of the Antonio Ferrandis film festival 2024 edition

Official description of the call

1. Participants All natural and/or legal persons who make/director short films produced after August 1, 2022 may participate, with a maximum duration of 25 minutes. Each participant may do so with only one work. The participant will be fully responsible for holding all the rights related to the work submitted to the competition.2. Awards. categories Best Fiction Short: filmmakers of Spanish nationality or foreigners residing in Spain can participate. The theme will be free. Prize: 1,500 euros and trophy. Best young director: aimed at filmmakers up to 30 years of age (turned during the year of the call). Directors of Spanish or foreign nationality can participate. The short films will have a free theme. Prize: 1,500 euros and trophy. All works participating in any category will be presented in their original version. In the event that the language is different from any of the co-official languages ​​of the Valencian Community, read Valencian and Spanish, it will necessarily be presented subtitled in any of the co-official languages. 3. Registrations The deadline for submitting works will be 20 business days from the day following the publication of the call in the BOP. The short films must be submitted accompanied by the duly completed registration form (in duplicate: one for the organization and one for the author), and a legible photocopy of the DNI or NIE if applicable, through the following means: - Through the MOVIBETA Platform. - On a physical DVD by mail or in person to the following address, from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m. (except holidays): Paterna Management and Services. Charles Robert Darwin Street, No. 2 (Blue Building), Technology Park - 46980, Paterna, Valencia. (Spain) 4. Technical conditions The maximum duration will be 20 minutes, including credits. The short films must offer the necessary technical guarantees of quality to be able to be downloaded and projected during the festival or in the screenings held as well as for a good screening in the theater. Each short film will be presented in two individual formats: in MP4 H264 Codec format and in BluRay or HD format with quality understanding for its projection. 5. Judging criteria for the Paterna Antonio Ferrandis Film Festival short film competition. The jury will evaluate the participating works based on the following criteria:  Originality of the story (up to 6 points): Uniqueness and development of the script. Narrative ability to tell the story based on resources and a time limitation. Importance of the message through elements such as the transmission of values, parity, social awareness and accessibility. Interpretation (up to 2 points): Naturalness, characterization, verisimilitude and construction of the characters, gestural and corporal expression. Technical quality (up to 2 points): Use of technical resources to benefit the rhythm and emotion of the story, variety and richness of shots, symbolic use of the frames and suitability of the artistic section depending on the needs and temporal context of the story.
