Mayor's Office no. 1680/2023, of November 7, 2023, of the El Sauzal City Council, which approves the call for the XVIII Nativity Scene Contest and the VI El Sauzal Christmas Tree Contest

Official description of the call

The City Council of El Sauzal, through the Department of Culture, calls for this year 2023 the XVIII Nativity Scene Contest and the VI Christmas Tree Contest of El Sauzal, which will be governed by the following CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION 1.Participants: All adults residing in El Sauzal may participate; as well as associations and citizen entities based in the municipality. 2. Modalities: The following modalities are established: Nativity scenes: Nativity scene mode made by individuals and Nativity scene mode made by groups or institutions. Christmas trees: A single general type. 3.Characteristics: Nativity scenes: they may be of any size, the material to be used being at the author's free disposal, as well as the use of plant elements, articulated figures, special effects, background music,... Christmas trees: they may be of any size, the material to be used, special effects, ambient music, exterior or interior, being at the author's free disposal,... 4.Registration: Registration for the contest is free. All persons or citizen entities interested in participating must do so from the day of publication of this call, ending the deadline on Tuesday, December 5 at 2:00 p.m., at: - Municipal website www.elsauzal.es: Filling out, signing and sending the templates enabled for this purpose to eusebiocastillo@elsauzal.es or to Officiravelo@elsauzal.es. - In person at the Town Hall (922 570 000, ext. 139) or at the Ravelo decentralized Office (922 570 000, ext. 200). It is reported that to know the official bases and access the registration templates you must consult the official website of this City Council: www.elsauzal.es or contact the City Council by phone (922 570 000). 5.Jury: The jury will be made up of people linked to the artistic field and will visit the proposed nativity scenes and trees on Monday, December 11, with prior notice to the registered people of the time of the visit. 6.Evaluation criteria: Nativity scenes: The jury appointed for this purpose will evaluate the originality and artistic richness, the recovery of the traditional nativity scene, the lighting effects, the materials used, the effort and laboriousness in the execution of the works, as well as the inclusion of traditional Canarian elements, especially those alluding to El Sauzal. Trees: Artistic creation will be valued in all cases (ingenuity, originality, beauty, aesthetic richness, difficulty of the work carried out,...). 7.Prizes: The prizes will be the following: CHRISTMAS First prize - Individuals: Shopping voucher worth 100 euros to be redeemed in establishments. First prize - Groups: Shopping voucher worth 100 euros to be redeemed in establishments. Second prize - Individuals: Shopping voucher worth 75 euros to be exchanged in establishments in the Municipality. Second prize - Groups: Shopping voucher worth 75 euros to be exchanged in establishments in the Municipality. Third prize - Individuals: Shopping voucher worth 50 euros to be exchanged in establishments in the Municipality. Third prize - Groups: Shopping voucher worth 50 euros to be exchanged in establishments in the Municipality. TREES First prize: Shopping voucher worth 60 euros to be exchanged at Municipal establishments. Second prize: Shopping voucher worth 30 euros to be exchanged at Municipal establishments. Third prize: Shopping voucher worth 20 euros to be exchanged at Municipal establishments. Likewise, a detail will be given to each of the contestants as a thank you for their participation. 8. Jury ruling: The jury's ruling will be final and may declare void all or any of the planned prizes. The winners will be notified by telephone to let them know the result of the jury's deliberations, and they will be summoned for the awards ceremony that will take place on Sunday, December 18, at 7:00 p.m., at the municipal theater (limited capacity). 9.Acceptance: Participation in this contest implies acceptance of each and every one of the bases of the contest and of this call, as well as the unappealable decision of the jury.
