Official description of the call
First.- MOTIVATION The motivation of this contest is the promotion and promotion of artistic activities in favor of cultural diversity and support for the plastic arts, specifically painting, both amateur and professional. Second.- PARTICIPANTS All painting lovers who wish to participate may participate, as long as they are over 14 years of age. The contest is for both professionals and amateurs. Third.- REGISTRATION The registration period is open from the publication of these rules on the El Sauzal City Council website, www.elsauzal.es, until the day of the contest, that is, Sunday, June 23, 2024. Only one work per author is allowed to be submitted. Each participant will fill out annexes I and II to be able to formalize the registration, which will be free and can be done through the following means: - E-mail: Until 2:00 p.m. on June 21, 2024, to cultura@elsauzal.es writing in the subject "Quick Painting Contest" and with annexes I and II, duly completed and signed, as attached documents. -In person: On the same day of the contest, that is, Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., in the entrance hall of the El Sauzal Cultural Center (access via Constitución Street, No. 3 or Manuel Nepomuceno Street, No. 12). Fifth.- SUPPORT, TECHNIQUE AND THEME The support must be smooth, rigid and white in color, it must be mounted on a frame or rigid support that allows the work to be displayed on the wall. The accepted measurement for said supports will be a maximum of 120 centimeters and a minimum of 60 centimeters, on any of its sides. The participants themselves must provide the material and work tools necessary to carry out the work (canvas, board, easel, brushes, pigments,...). In addition, you will be responsible for the collection of any waste generated in the development of the activity. The technique and style will be the choice of the artist, always starting from outdoor painting. The topic must be related to El Sauzal, its landscapes, its heritage and its people. Painters may use images or photographs that serve as inspiration or as a pictorial resource. Sixth.- PLACE OF CELEBRATION The contest will take place in Plaza del Príncipe, Plaza de San Pedro and Avenida Inmaculada Concepción; freely available to participants. In case of inclement weather, artists will be able to use the hall of the Cultural Center of the town (back of the Town Hall or access via Manuel Nepomuceno Street, No. 12) to carry out their work. Seventh.- RECEPTION, CONSERVATION AND EXHIBITION OF THE WORKS The participating artists have from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to deliver the works to the entrance hall of the El Sauzal Cultural Center (back of the Town Hall), where the jury's decision will be issued at 6:30 p.m. The three winning works will become the property of the City Council and will be displayed in the exhibition hall during the festive period, that is, until Sunday, July 7, 2024. The winning artists must sign their work once the award has been awarded. The non-awarded works, once the awards ceremony is over, will be withdrawn by their authors. Eighth.- JURY The qualifying jury will remain anonymous until the decision is announced, which will take place on Sunday, June 23, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., in the entrance hall of the El Sauzal Cultural Center (back of the Town Hall). The members of the jury will be appointed by the El Sauzal City Council from among professionals in the field, selecting people of recognized solvency and knowledge in the subject at hand. At the discretion of the jury, any prize may be declared void and its ruling will be final. Ninth.- PRIZES They will be paid, as the acquisition of copyright, from the budget application 3340.2260901 of the current Budget of the City Council of El Sauzal and will consist of the following indivisible prizes: -First prize: 500 euros, institutional detail and accrediting diploma.-Second prize: 300 euros, institutional detail and accrediting diploma.-Third prize: 200 euros, institutional detail and accrediting diploma. The amount of the prizes will be subject to current legal regulations on tax withholdings.
