EXTRACT from the Resolution of the Rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University dated June 14, 2024, which approves and makes public the regulatory bases and makes public the call for awards for the best final degree projects, master's final projects and doctoral theses related to tourism. BDNS: 769472 In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b) and 20.8.a) of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the aforementioned resolution is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans/index as well as on the electronic bulletin board official of the Rey Juan Carlos University https://sede.urjc.es/tablon-de-anuncios: First. Object. The purpose of this call is to encourage and promote research related to tourism at the URJC, promoting critical, creative and cooperative thinking among its students through Final Degree Projects (TFG), Final Master's Projects (TFM) and Doctoral Theses. To this end, prizes will be awarded on a competitive basis to undergraduate, master's and doctoral students whose work (TFG, TFM and Doctoral Theses) contributes to the advancement of research on tourism in any of the areas of knowledge included in Annex I of the R.D. 822/2021, of September 28, which establishes the organization of university education and the procedure for ensuring its quality. Works (TFG and TFM) and Doctoral Theses defended in the years 2022 and 2023 (calendar year) may be submitted that have been graded with a grade equal to or greater than 9 (excellent), either with practical or theoretical content and explicitly linked to research on tourism. Participation in this call is compatible with any other call for awards, scholarships or grants to which the applicant opts. Second. Beneficiaries. The requirements that must be met by students who meet the following requirements: - Have defended the work (TFG, TFM or Doctoral Thesis) during the years 2022 and 2023 (calendar year) at the Rey Juan Carlos University, provided that the work has been graded with a minimum grade of 9. - Have written the work in Spanish or in any of the co-official languages ​​of the Spanish State, or in English. - Have been carried out by one author or by several authors. In the case of group works, the prize will be distributed equally among its co-authors. - The theme of the work must be framed in tourism. - The works must be original and unpublished. - Applicants will comply with all legal requirements of confidentiality and originality of their work and assume any responsibility derived from non-compliance. - The works must have a positive report from the URJC Ethics Committee if this is necessary. Students who meet any of the circumstances listed in article 13.2 of Law 38/2003, General Subsidies, will not be able to obtain beneficiary status. Third. Amount of prizes. In this call, a total financial amount of €6,000 will be allocated, charged to the CIETUR expenditure budget for 2024 (budget application 30V1IN1370 541A 483.00). The granting of the prizes is subject to the existence of credit in the URJC budget for 2024 to finance them. Three award categories are established (TFG, TFM and Doctoral Theses). A total of 6 prizes and 3 honorable mentions (second prizes) will be awarded, distributed as detailed below: For the TFG: A first prize to the TFG that comes 1st in the selection process, endowed with a financial amount of €750. A second prize to the TFG that comes 2nd in the selection process, endowed with a financial amount of €400. A second prize for the best evaluated TFG who have not received the first or second prize, with a financial award of €250. For the TFM: A first prize to the TFM that comes 1st in the selection process, endowed with a financial amount of €1,200. A second prize to the TFM that comes 2nd in the selection process, endowed with a financial amount of €600.
