Official description of the call
FIRST. All artists over 18 years of age, residing in the Spanish State, who wish to do so can participate. SECOND. The contest is open to any theme, technique and style. Authors will have to precisely specify the technique(s) used in the creation of their works. No reference may be made to any trademark and in no way may the content of the work be offensive, in the broadest sense. In fact, the organization reserves the right to not admit candidatures that, in its discretion, do not comply with the technical, artistic and/or legal conditions required by the contest, or that hurt people's sensibilities, inciting violent, discriminatory behavior or contrary to social customs. THIRD. The minimum dimensions of the support where the work is captured are 81x60cm and the maximum dimensions are 180x180cm. QUARTER. Each participant may submit a maximum of two works, of which the jury may only select one, unframed. Works protected by glass will not be admitted, but they may be protected by a strip that does not exceed 2cm in width. The works must be original and must not have been awarded in any other national or international competition. Likewise, the works must not have the signature or any sign that identifies the author visible. FIFTH. The deadline for registration for the contest will be July 19, 2024. Participants will have to register online through the MundoArti platform through the following link www.mundoarti.com, within the contests section, category: painting. SIXTH. The photograph of the work presented will be properly cropped (that is, without the frame, easel, etc. appearing) in JPG format of maximum 5MB.SEVENTH. The jury will make a selection of 25 works that will be communicated to interested parties on July 29, 2024. Only the selected works will have to be sent personally or sent by transport agency before August 10, 2024, duly identified to: XÀTIVA CITY COUNCIL – CASA DE CULTURA C/ Moncada, 7 - 46800 XÀTIVA. Telephone: 96 228 23 04 Email: casacultura@ayto-xativa.es It will be accompanied by an envelope including the following information of the author: name and surname, photocopy of ID, address, postal code and town, contact telephone numbers, email and resume, as well as the estimated price of the work or works presented, title, technique, measurements and year of completion. The works will be presented unsigned. If they are signed, the signature must be hidden, with the title or motto that identifies it appearing on the back of the painting. OCTAVE. The jury reserves the possibility of increasing or decreasing the number of selected works based on their quality. NOVENA. Among the selected works, a first cash prize of €5,000 will be established for the best work, and a second prize of €3,000 at the discretion of the jury, this amount is subject to current tax regulations. The winning works will become the property of the Xàtiva City Council. All taxes levied on the receipt of the prizes will be the responsibility of the winners. TENTH. The selected participants authorize the citation of their names, as well as the photographic reproduction of their selected works for the promotional and dissemination material related to the contest in any media and also for the edition of the catalog that will be edited for the exclusive purpose of promoting the selected artists and without profit, for which it will not generate any remuneration for copyright. The catalog will include all the selected works.ELEVENTH. The prize will be awarded on August 15, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at the public opening ceremony of the exhibition of the selected and awarded works. TWELFTH. The jury will be appointed by the Fair Department after the appropriate administrative procedures and will be made up of four members of recognized prestige in the artistic world and the field of culture and a representative of the City Council. The jury will be chaired by the Mayor or person whom he delegates, with an official from the corresponding department acting as secretary. THIRTEENTH.
