Official description of the call
First.- Beneficiaries All people, groups of individuals or entities that register within the deadlines and places set out in the Contest Regulatory Bases may participate. Second.- Object The purpose of this call is to promote one of the most important traditional festivals in the Carballo City Council and recover one of the popular practices of these dates, Carnival 2025. Third.- Regulatory Bases The regulatory bases of this call were published in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña number 19, of Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Fourth.- Eligible actions Participation in the Carballo City Council Carnival Costumes, Troupes and Floats Contest and individual and group costumes in the categories of children and adults. Fifth.- Amount The global amount allocated to the granting of these prizes is €10,340.00. The amount of the prizes varies according to the categories and modalities. The breakdown is detailed in the contest rules. In order to encourage participation, a maximum of 20 bonuses will be awarded, with an amount of €125 for troupes in the children's category, €125 for troupes with less than 25 members in the adult category, €200 for troupes with more than 25 members in the adult category and €300 for each of the floats. These will be issued in order of registration and, according to the number of members participating in the parade, after verification by the organization and the jury that they comply with what is established in the rules and, as long as, the jury considers that the participants meet minimum quality characteristics or conditions. To receive the rewards, it will be essential to complete the entire parade route by all the members of the group, troupe or float (except in exceptional cases due to special circumstances previously authorized by the organization). If the number of participating troupes and floats exceeds the number of rewards available, it may be limited to a maximum of 2 rewards for each registered entity. Sixth.- Deadline for submitting applications The deadlines for submitting applications to participate in this contest will be from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province of A Coruña until February 26, 2025 in the case of troupes and floats and, until Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 5:00 p.m., in the rest of the modalities. Seventh.- Justification period The awarding of prizes and gratuities will be made public on the same day of the parade. Once the jury meeting is held, prizes less than €125 will be paid in cash, after signing a receipt by the participants or the representatives they designate. Participants must collect them at the Town Hall at the end of the contest or at the Culture Service (Pazo da Cultura) within 10 days of the contest. Rewards for participating or prizes for an amount greater than €125 will be paid by bank transfer in the days following the Contest. Beneficiaries must present a certificate of the bank account in the name of the participating entity or its representatives or members of the group, troupe or float, within a maximum period of one month from the holding of the contest. The amount of bonuses and prizes are subject to the corresponding income tax withholdings.
