Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries: Any person who presents unpublished texts on free themes, in narrative or poetry, written in the Galician language in accordance with the contest rules, may participate in this call. Minor participants must provide the data of a person of legal age who acts as legal representative. Second. Purpose: The call for the Ames City Council Literary Contest aims to promote literary creation in the Galician language and promote and disseminate its own culture, as a way of contributing to linguistic and cultural normalization. The contest has two modalities: narrative and poetry. In each modality, three categories are established, according to the age of the participating people. In the first category, people up to 13 years old will participate, in the second from 14 to 17 years old; and in the third, people over 18 years of age will attend. Third. Regulatory bases: The bases of the twenty-second edition of the Ames City Council Literary Contest were approved by Local Government Board Agreement, dated March 20, 2025. Fourth. Amount: The Ames City Council Literary Contest will have a financial award of €3,800, distributed among the different prizes for each of the categories and modalities that establish the bases of the call. 1st Category (up to 13 years old) 1st prize: 200 euros 2nd prize: 170 euros 3rd prize: 140 euros 2nd Category (from 14 to 17 years old) 1st prize: 230 euros 2nd prize: 200 euros 3rd prize: 170 euros 3rd Category (18 years or older) 1st prize: 300 euros 2nd prize: 260 euros 3rd prize: 230 euros Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications: The deadline for submitting candidatures will begin the day after the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province and will end on April 30, 2025.
