Agreement of 03/12/2025 of the Island Government Council, regarding the approval of the Rules and Call for the "Agtrojoven Awards" business project competition, fiscal year 2025

Official description of the call

ISLAND COUNCIL OF TENERIFE ISLAND COUNCIL OF INDUSTRY, COMMERCE, PRIMARY SECTOR AND ANIMAL WELFARE Extract from the agreement adopted by the Island Government Council of the Hon. Cabildo de Tenerife, in an ordinary session held on March 12, 2025, which approved the call for the “Premios Agrojoven” business project competition, fiscal year 2025, and delegation of powers to the Ministry with Delegation in the Primary Sector and Animal Welfare. BDNS (Identif.): In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3 b and 20.8 a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans): First. Purpose The purpose of this call is to establish the regulatory rules for the call for the “Agrojoven Awards Business Project Contest”, with the purpose of recognizing and rewarding business projects linked to the rural environment of the island of Tenerife and, preferably, the agricultural and livestock sector, and to promote the professionalization and participation of young people linked to agricultural activity to contribute, as far as possible, to the generational change of this activity and try to alleviate the negative consequences that for rural areas and the environment is generating the abandonment of agricultural lands on the island. Second. Beneficiaries Individuals or private legal entities who meet the following requirements may participate in the aforementioned contest: If they are a natural person, they must not have reached 41 years of age on the date on which the deadline for submitting applications to participate in the contest ends, and they must be registered in any municipality on the island of Tenerife, regardless of their nationality. If it is a private legal entity, at least half of its members (partners or members) are under 41 years of age on the date on which the aforementioned application submission period ends and that they participate in that proportion in the share capital and/or in the management of the legal entity. In addition, it must have its registered office on the island of Tenerife. Third. Regulatory bases They are those approved by agreement of the Island Government Council of the Hon. Cabildo de Tenerife in session held on March 12, 2025. Fourth. Amount The amount approved for this call amounts to fourteen thousand four hundred euros (€14,400.00), which will be distributed according to the following award modalities: “Agrojoven Awards for business initiative” for business projects that have been launched within the twenty-four (24) months prior to the end date of the application submission period, with the following categories being awarded in accordance with the scores obtained: First award, for the amount of five thousand euros (€5,000.00). Second prize, in the amount of four thousand euros (€4,000.00), Third prize, in the amount of three thousand euros (€3,000.00) b) “Agrojoven Awards for the business idea” for business projects that have not been launched as of the date of submission of the application, with four (4) prizes being awarded for this modality in the amount of six hundred euros (€600.00) to each of the winning ideas. In the event that any of the prizes provided for in modality a) of business initiative are void, the credit approved for this purpose may be used to grant up to 3 additional prizes in modality b) - business idea - for an amount of €600.00 to each of them. Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will be twenty (20) business days counted from the day following the publication of the extract of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province. Sixth. Other information Applications must be formalized by application in accordance with the official forms specifically prepared by the Island Council of Tenerife, which must be duly signed by the applicant or their representative. Along with the application model, interested persons must present the documentation detailed in ANNEX I, which must be duly signed by the applicant or their representative and must be authentic or be certified copies in accordance with the law.
