Official description of the call
1. Object, conditions and purpose Within the framework of the provisions of Law 20/2022, of October 19, on Democratic Memory, regarding the duty to preserve the disasters of war in the collective memory and in compliance with the principles of truth, justice, reparation and guarantee of non-repetition, as well as in compliance with the provisions of Law 2/2017, of March 28, on Historical and Democratic Memory of Andalusia, the regulatory bases are established for the granting of subsidies for activities related to the recovery of Democratic Memory and the victims of the Civil War and the dictatorship. The Excma. Provincial Council of Cádiz, through the Historical and Democratic Memory Service, by this resolution calls for the year 2025, in accordance with the provisions of article 23 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the granting of aid under a competitive competition regime under article 22.1 thereof, to carry out EIGHT RESEARCH PROJECTS FOR THE RECOVERY OF HISTORICAL MEMORY IN THE PROVINCE OF CÁDIZ 2025, with a maximum duration until December 31, 2025, in the field of Historical Memory, which address aspects related to repression and social control in the province of Cádiz during the post-war period. In relation to the aid called for by this resolution, the subsidies are aimed at financing said research projects linked to the recovery of Democratic Memory, including those where the struggle of the citizens of the province of Cádiz for their rights and freedoms and the fight for the recovery and deepening of democratic values is confirmed. It is intended to promote the investigation of the events and circumstances that occurred after the Civil War and ensure the preservation and knowledge of direct sources related to that historical period, especially those deposited in municipal public archives of the province. The proposal of study topics corresponds to the beneficiaries, but must necessarily be relative to the geographical framework of the province of Cádiz and the temporal and thematic framework of the repression unleashed after the Coup d'état of July 1936 and the social control exercised in the post-war period. However, given the dispersion of the documentary collections, research may be carried out on collections that are not currently preserved in the province of Cádiz. The studies and work carried out will be directed by the Historical and Democratic Memory Service, dependent on the Area of Ecological Transition and Development to Citizenship of the Provincial Council of Cádiz. 2. Requirements to acquire the status of beneficiaries In compliance with arts. 11 and 13 of the General Law of Subsidies may be beneficiaries of the aid granted under this call for those people who are in possession of a Bachelor's degree or university degree, considering that the research covered by this call can be approached from different disciplines, in a transversal and holistic manner. Ultimately, projects are sought that, in addition to the investigation of events that are not sufficiently known or studied, give rise to subsequent pedagogical development as subjects related to the fulfillment of human rights. A claim that can only be resolved from a multidisciplinary approach. In the case of degrees issued by a non-Spanish university, the applicant will have to present a sworn translation that certifies the studies completed, as well as the credential that guarantees its homologation in the Spanish educational system resolved by the Ministry of Education. Projects must be submitted by natural persons individually, and projects prepared jointly will not be accepted. Applicants must be up to date with their tax obligations with the State and the corresponding Autonomous Community and with Social Security, as well as with the Provincial Council of Cádiz.
