Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries. Pianists of any nationality who were born on or after November 22, 1992, inclusive. First prize winners in previous editions will not be able to participate. The organization of the Award reserves the right of admission, applying a selection of the candidates, in view of the curriculum vitae and a link to a web page where there is an audiovisual recording of the applicant. Second. Object. Encourage musical interpretation of the piano among young people. Third. Regulatory bases. General Ordinance on Subsidies of the Provincial Council of Valladolid (B.O.P. of Valladolid of March 6, 2006). Room. Amount. 24,000 euros, according to the following distribution: ? First prize: 12,000 euros? Second prize: 6,000 euros? Third prize: 3,000 euros? Award for the best Spanish music performer: 3,000 euros Fifth. Application submission deadline. The registration period begins the day following the publication of the extract of this call in the Official Gazette of the Province of Valladolid (BOP). The deadline for submitting applications ends on September 3, 2025, inclusive. Sixth. Other information of interest. Tests: The contest consists of a non-face-to-face pre-selection of those registered (in which the video sent by those registered is evaluated), and two eliminatory tests and a final test with orchestra, all of them public. The participants will act in alphabetical order, starting with the contestants whose first surname begins with the letter decided in the draw carried out in accordance with what is determined in article 17 of the R.D. 364/95 of March 10, which approves the Regulations for the Entry of Personnel into the service of the State Administration. The preselection will be carried out in view of the curriculum vitae and a link to a web page where there is an audiovisual recording of the applicant, which will necessarily include works presented to the competition, with a minimum duration of 15 minutes and three contrasting styles, allowing the isolated interpretation of movements from sonatas, concertos, suites and others. The link must be included in the application. The two eliminatory tests (1st and 2nd) will begin on November 24, 2025, according to the calendar that will be provided at the time. The final test with orchestra will be held in Valladolid on November 28, 2025. Contestants must specify in their application each of the works to be performed in each test, as well as their duration, without any work being able to be substituted or deleted. The first test will consist of the interpretation of a prelude and fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier by J. S. Bach, a study by Chopin, and a study to choose from among those by Liszt, Scriabin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, Bartók, Prokofiev, Saint-SaÃ«ns or Stravinsky. The duration of this test may not exceed 20 minutes. The second test will consist of the interpretation of a program freely chosen by the contestant, lasting a maximum of 45 minutes, which will include, among others, a classic work and a work by a Spanish author. The final test with orchestra will consist of the performance of a concerto for piano and orchestra, chosen from those indicated in the rules of the call. Expenses: The accommodation (room and breakfast) of the contestants will be borne by the Provincial Council of Valladolid, from November 23, 2025 and for the duration of their participation in the contest. Additional expenses will be borne by the contestants. Registration fees: 50 euros.
