Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries. 1. The direct beneficiaries of this aid are farmers and ranchers who carry out eligible work in an agricultural building in a rural area. 2. Applicants who meet some of the circumstances included in sections 2 and 3 of article 12 of the Cantabria Law 10/2006, of July 17, on Cantabria Subsidies, may not be beneficiaries of this aid. Second. Object. 1. Call under a competitive competition regime for the year 2025, aid for investments in renewable energy for agricultural buildings in rural areas, in accordance with the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027 of Spain. 2. The purpose of the aid is to alleviate the cost of investments in electricity generation facilities for self-consumption through the use of renewable energies and specific investments in savings measures and improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings intended for agricultural activity that are located in rural areas of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria 3. The following investments made in agricultural buildings in rural areas will be eligible for subsidies: a) Investments in electricity generation facilities for self-consumption through the use of renewable energies. Investments in electricity generation facilities using photovoltaic solar energy and/or wind energy for self-consumption will be eligible, with or without incorporation of accumulation systems or batteries to store the energy produced during the hours of generation. Likewise, investment in storage systems that are incorporated into existing electricity generation facilities for self-consumption using renewable energy sources will be eligible for subsidies. For storage systems to be eligible for subsidies, the condition must be met that the storage is not directly connected to the network, but must be part of the self-consumption installation. In case of replacement of storage equipment, the equipment to be replaced must be more than 6 years old. In generation facilities that use both renewable energy sources, the priority when choosing eligible actions, if necessary, will be in this order, first solar photovoltaic and then wind. b) Specific investments in savings measures and improvement of the energy efficiency of the building. Investments in new thermal generation facilities through the use of renewable energy sources and investments to replace obsolete thermal generators or boilers or those powered by fossil fuels (gas, diesel, fuel oil) with others that use renewable energies will be eligible. The replacement of obsolete biomass boilers with more modern and efficient ones, also made of biomass, is considered included. Likewise, investments in other equipment or installations or the replacement of obsolete equipment with more efficient ones will be eligible, provided that these investments produce a reduction in the final energy consumption of the entire building of 10% or 30% with respect to the initial installation or equipment that is replaced. As a guide, among other eligible investments, the installation of control and measurement systems to optimize energy use, milk pre-cooling systems, lobe vacuum pumps with variable speed, electric accumulators, condensers, heat recovery systems, replacement of lighting, etc. The amount of energy saved is determined by measuring and/or estimating consumption before and after the installation of the new equipment, taking into account the technical sheets or specifications of the manufacturers. To be eligible for the replacement of any elements or equipment, the elements or equipment to be replaced must be more than 6 years old. The installation of thermal generators that are electric or that use fossil fuel will not be considered eligible. 4. To be eligible, investments must meet the following requirements: a) The amount of the minimum eligible investment is 1,500 euros, excluding VAT. b) Investments may not be started before the date of registration of the application.
