Official description of the call

First. Purpose: The purpose of this award is to encourage the research spirit, to financially recognize their effort and work, and to serve as a stimulus for them to continue forward with their task. Second. Theme: The works will consist of basic or applied research related to scientific, experimental and university technological areas of the following areas of knowledge: Engineering, Basic Sciences, Life Sciences, Humanities, Others Third. Requirements: People born and/or residing in the Valencian Community who, as of December 31, 2025, have not met the age limits established in each of the modalities may participate in this contest: - Initiative research category, under 26 years of age - Consolidated research category, between 26 and 36 years of age The works must be unpublished. Works awarded in other similar calls will not be admitted, nor works that have been presented in previous editions of this award. It may be presented individually or it may also be joint authorship. The scientific interest and originality of the works, the conceptual approaches and hypotheses, the methodology used, the clarity of presentation and discussion of results, the conclusions, their potential practical usefulness and the social impact will be valued; as well as future projection as a line of research and translation to the productive sector. The writing of the essay that follows the criteria of linguistic equality and a non-sexist use of language will be positively valued. It is proposed, as a type of recommendation, to follow the "Usage guide for an egalitarian language" of the Equality Unit of the University of Valencia. The works will be written in Valencian, Spanish or English. Room. Deadline and submission of applications: The deadline for the delivery of the work will be December 19, 2025. The application and the rest of the documentation will be submitted through the City Council's Electronic Headquarters. For this purpose, the City Council has created a specific procedure, in the Electronic Headquarters [sede.algemesi.es], which will be enabled from October 20, 2025. The registration form, according to the approved model, will include the following information: - Personal data of the person or persons who request it - Certificate of registration (those not registered in Algemesí) - Title of the work - Summary description of the work that is submitted for the award, containing: • Brief summary of the research carried out (maximum 200 words). • Background and state of prior knowledge (maximum 300 words). • Research objectives (maximum 100 words). • Results obtained and discussion (maximum 1,000 words). • Projection of the work – in the opinion of the researcher –, both from the point of view of future research – including the possible continuity of the research presented and future plans around it – and from the point of view of its practical application, with the forecast of the potential benefits and social and/or economic repercussions that could be obtained (maximum 500 words). • Bibliography (maximum 25 references). • Annexes with any other additional documentation related to or supporting the research work (documents, graphics, presentations in ppt format, audio files, etc.) and that the authors consider relevant. - Models or models, if necessary. - Abbreviated curriculum of the participant or participants (in CNAI format, or similar, and in relation to the research). - Sworn statement from each and every person participating, by which they authorize the presentation of the work and detail their degree of participation and involvement in the research project. Fifth. Prizes: The jury may agree on the following prizes: a. “Ciudad de Algemesí” Scientific-Technical Award, with a financial award of €5,000, for a consolidated researcher. b. “Ciudad de Algemesí” Scientific-Technical Award, with a financial award of €1,500, for an initiatory researcher c. Ribera Scientific-Technical Award for a researcher, resident or born in Ribera del Júcar, with a financial award of €1,500. d. If the jury considers it appropriate, it may award up to four paid second prizes and all the honorable mentions it considers relevant based on the criteria.
