Official description of the call

First. Purpose: To announce the XXXI City of Algemesí Painting Prize. Second. Requirements: It will be an essential condition that the works presented are unique and original and that they have not been awarded a financial prize in any other competition. The theme and technique will be completely free and works protected with glass or made with materials whose transportation and handling present a risk to the integrity of the work will not be admitted. Each author may submit a maximum of two works whose measurements will not be less than 100 cm. nor greater than 200 cm. for each side. The works must not be signed. Third. Deadline and submission of applications: The works will be presented in the electronic registry that will be enabled by the City Council on the website: http://sede.algemesi.es. The minimum resolution will be 3 megapixels and the maximum file size will be 5MB and in jpg format. The data of the work and the author will be indicated (of the author: name and surname, ID, address and telephone number; of the work: title, year, technique and measurements). The deadline for admission of works in digital format will be from October 13 to 31, 2025 Fourth. Prizes A prize of 6,000 euros is established, which will be indivisible and may be declared void. The jury reserves the right to suggest the acquisition of more works, as runners-up. For these purposes, the economic valuation of the work will govern, which the author will present along with the documentation requested in the call. Fifth. Jury The jury, whose composition will be announced in due course, will make a selection of the finalist works from which the winner will be determined. In addition, a catalog will be prepared with all of them and an exhibition will be organized. For this reason, the participants will transfer the right to reproduce the works for the catalog that the City Council will publish and will lend the work selected for the exhibition, which will take place between the months of November 2025 and January 2026 at the Drassanes del Grao in Valencia. Furthermore, they agree not to collect it until the end of the sample.
