Official description of the call
By agreement of the Local Government Board 36/2025, of October 21, 2025, the call for the 24th edition of the Sant Cugat poetry prize in memory of Gabriel Ferrater is approved, under a competitive competition regime, in accordance with the general bases initially approved, published in the BOPB dated October 3, 2025, n. CVE202510154721. On December 20, 2023, the city council approved, by Mayoral Decree number 6003/2023, the Strategic Subsidies Plan 2024-2027, a Plan that provides among its objectives and lines of subsidies the provision of literary or artistic prizes to promote participation in artistic and literary contests held in the city. On September 26, 2025, by agreement adopted by the Plenary in the plenary session AJT/PLE/10/2025, the general bases of the Sant Cugat Poetry Prize in memory of Gabriel Ferrater were approved, under a guided competitive competition regime, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona (BOPB) on October 3, 2025 and CVE 202510154721 and on the electronic bulletin board of the City Council; as well as insert a reference of this announcement in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat of Catalonia, in accordance with article 124.2 of the ROAS. The bases state that applicants for this Award may be natural persons who have not previously obtained a prize for this work and who are not included in any of the assumptions established in article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies. Likewise, the following requirements must be met: The works presented for the Prize must be written in the Catalan language, in any of its varieties. The minimum length must be that which corresponds to a printed volume of 64 pages. Each author can submit a single work for the award, which must be unpublished as a whole; If any part is not unpublished, the author will have to state it in each of the copies, indicating which poems or fragments have been previously published, and where. The work does not have to have been awarded in other literary competitions nor does it have to have been submitted to any other contest pending adjudication. Nor does it have to be committed or in the process of publication with any publisher. Participants may not correspond or contact the jury members in relation to the works submitted before the prize is awarded. Afterwards, the jurors are not obliged to maintain it either. Participation entails acceptance of each and every one of the points of this call and the attendance of the award-winning author at the official awards ceremony and presentation of the book, and his or her participation in the promotion campaign. In line with this public purpose and with the approved General Rules, the approval of the call for the 24th edition of the Sant Cugat poetry prize in the Memory of Gabriel Ferrater (exp. 2466/2025) is proposed. The power to approve the granting of these subsidies corresponds to the mayor's office, in accordance with article 21.1.f) of Law 7/1985, of April 2, regulating the bases of local government and article 53.1.u) of Legislative Decree 2/2003, of April 28, which approves the Consolidated Text of the Municipal and Local Government Law of Catalonia. However, this power has been delegated to the Local Government Board by Mayor's Decree No. 442/2025, of February 4, 2025, published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Barcelona dated 02/12/2025.
