Official description of the call
FIRST. OBJECT. The Regulatory Bases of this Call are intended to establish the rules that must govern the Official Election Contest for the Queen and Ladies of Honor of the San Juan Festivities of the current year, and the obligations derived from participation in it. SECOND. PARTICIPANTS. All interested candidates who request it in writing and meet the requirements established in the Bases of this Call may take part in the Competition. THIRD. SUBMISSION AND DOCUMENTATION DEADLINE. The deadline for submitting candidates to the Contest will begin counting the day after the publication of the extract of this Call in the B.O.P. of Cáceres and will end on March 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Candidates interested in attending the Contest must present the registration application form, in addition to the authorization form if they are a minor, and must be directed to the Mayor's Office. Coria Town Hall, Plaza de San Pedro, 1. 10800 Coria (Cáceres). QUARTER. COMPETENT BODY FOR THE INSTRUCTION AND RESOLUTION OF THE PROCEDURE. The coordination and collection of applications from candidates submitted to this Competition will be carried out by the Department of Information and Registration of the Hon. Coria City Council; while the competent body for the investigation of the file will be the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Technician attached to the Department of Tourism and designated for this purpose by the Department of Tourism. FIFTH. PRIZES, BUDGET CREDIT AND AMOUNT. Each of the candidates chosen as Queen and Official Ladies of Honor of the San Juan Festivities will be awarded a cash prize of €300, to which the withholdings contemplated in the current regulatory provisions will be made, and must also be up to date with compliance with their corresponding tax obligations. The total amount of the prizes will be €900, charged to the current General Budgets. SIXTH. JURY. The Verifying Jury for the Official Election Contest of the Queen and Ladies of Honor of the San Juan Festival will be made up of the members designated by the Organization through a Resolution of the competent municipal body, especially the Standard Bearers and/or legal representatives of the four traditional San Juan bullfighting clubs, who will ensure, supervise and show special consideration and vigilance over the legality of the election process for the official elective positions of Queen and Ladies of Honor of the San Juan Festival. SEVENTH. EVALUATION CRITERIA AND SELECTION PROCEDURE. During the celebration of the Election Gala, voters must take into account certain evaluation criteria, such as: the image and general presence of the candidates, the elegance and ease of the candidates during the Gala parade, the naturalness and ease of communication of the candidates when expressing themselves verbally and the knowledge of the traditional San Juan Festival. OCTAVE. VOTING SYSTEM AND RULING. In the designation of the candidates presented to the Contest, it will be the general public present at said Contest who will decide, through their secret votes entered in ballot boxes arranged for this purpose, the election of the candidates elected as Official Queen and Ladies of Honor of the San Juan Festival. NOVENA. PLACE, DATE AND TIME OF THE ELECTION. The place, date and time of the celebration of the Election Gala of the candidates presented to the Official Contest for Queen and Bridesmaids of the Festivities of San Juan, will be established by the Organization of the Contest itself, as well as duly published and promptly communicated to each of the aspiring participants in said Contest. TENTH. PROPOSED FINAL RESOLUTION AND NOTIFICATION OR PUBLICATION. Once the candidates have been selected by the Jury, the instructor body will formulate the definitive resolution proposal, which will be notified to the contestants or beneficiaries proposed as winners of the Contest. ELEVENTH. OBLIGATIONS OF APPLICANTS. The candidates for the Queen and Bridesmaid Election Competition of the San Juan Festival, by the mere fact of their appointment in this Competition, undertake to actively participate in all those representations that these honorary positions entail during the development of the Festival after their official appointment.
