Official description of the call
FIRST. OBJECT. The Hon. Coria City Council, derived from the bullfighting image of the City of Coria as it has been linked since time immemorial with the fighting bull through its ancestral and traditional San Juan Festivals, announces the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest with the aim of promoting, preserving, promoting and praising bullfighting culture coinciding with the celebration of the International Bull Fair of the City of Coria (FITCORIA). A gastronomic event, through which the Hon. Coria City Council, in addition to promoting, supporting and disseminating the defense of the bull and bullfighting culture, aims to value the meat of the Iberian fighting bull, both for haute cuisine and for the usual diet, as it has numerous applications in the kitchen. SECOND. PARTICIPANTS. In order to encourage, energize, select and distinguish the most active, competitive and collaborative entrepreneurs of the bar hospitality industry in the City of Coria, the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest is open, free of charge, to all hospitality establishments located in the town. THIRD. CELEBRATION AND DISSEMINATION DATES. The celebration of the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest in the City of Coria will take place during the weekend days of March 7 to 8 and 14 to 15, 2026. The celebration of the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest and the participating local hospitality establishments will be advertised by the local company Emilio González Sánchez, S.L., and promotionally supported by the International Association of Bullfighting (AIT), the Fighting Bull Foundation (FTL), the Union of Fighting Bull Breeders (UCTL), the Federation of Native Breed Associations of Fighting (FEDELIDIA), the Official College of Veterinarians of Cáceres and the Victorino Martín Livestock Farm, together with the media, the municipal web portal www.coria.org and its social networks. QUARTER. SUBMISSION AND DOCUMENTATION DEADLINE. The registration period for the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest will begin counting the day after the publication of the extract of this Call in the B.O.P. of Cáceres and will end on January 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Applications for participation submitted to the Contest must be addressed to the Mayor's Office. Coria Town Hall, Plaza de San Pedro, 1. 10800 Coria (Cáceres), and presented within the period included in the General Registry of the Excmo. Coria Town Hall, Plaza de San Pedro, 1, 10800 Coria (Cáceres). FIFTH. CATEGORY OR RECREATIONAL MODALITIES. Each hospitality establishment registered in the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest must participate, compulsorily, within the category or type of tapa that will be freely prepared with the base ingredient of fighting bull meat together with the accompaniment of other products used for its composition, and whose result can be eaten by hand in two or three bites. SIXTH. NUMBER OF COVERS PER ESTABLISHMENT. The establishment of the maximum number of tapas prepared for the clientele during the celebration of the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest will be determined, obligatorily, in the quantity of one for each participating hospitality establishment. SEVENTH. PREPARATION TECHNIQUE. Each hospitality establishment will be able to freely prepare its tapa, either cold or hot; Its finish, both in presentation and composition of ingredients, is identical to that which appears advertised on the posters and in the contest's decision to the Jury. OCTAVE. EXHIBITION SCHEDULE, SALE AND PRICE OF THE COVERS. During the days of the “TauroTapas FitCoria” Gastronomic Contest, the tapas presented must be regularly available to customers between exhibition and sales hours from 12:00 to 16:00 and, optionally, from 20:00 to 23:00 for those establishments that consider it appropriate. Regarding the price of tapas, this will be established unitarily without exception for the value of €2.00 per participating hospitality establishment. NOVENA. COMPETENT BODY FOR THE INSTRUCTION AND RESOLUTION OF THE PROCEDURE. The competent body for the investigation of the file will be the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Technician attached to the Department of Tourism and designated for this purpose by the Department of Tourism.
