Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries All people of legal age, who did not obtain the award in the five years prior to this one, and who present unpublished works that have not previously been awarded in any other award or competition, may participate. Second. Object With the aim of contributing to increasing the storytelling quality and creativity that characterizes our writers, and with the desire to pay tribute to Ferrolan Gonzalo Torrente Ballester, the Provincial Council of A Coruña, announces the "Torrente Ballester" Prize for narrative in the Galician language for the year 2026. Third. Regulatory Bases This call will be governed by the Regulatory Bases published in BOP number 246 of December 24, 2025 available at: https://bop.dacoruna.gal/bopportal/publicado/2025/12/24/2025_0000008609.pdf Fourth. Amount The amount of the allocation amounts to a total of €15,000, charged to item 0612/3341/481 of the ordinary Budget for the year 2026. A single prize is established with €15,000. The prize may be void and be awarded ex aequo; In this case, the amount will be distributed proportionally among the people who are awarded. Fifth. Application submission period The application period will begin on February 10, 2026, and will end on April 10, 2026. Sixth. Other information The works will be presented, preferably, on USB/CD digital support, and together with the escrow they will be sent to the Provincial Council of A Coruña, Avda. Porto da Coruña 2, 15003 A Coruña, indicating on the envelope the "Torrente Ballester" Prize for narrative in the Galician language.
