AZPEITIA CITY COUNCIL REGULATORY BASES FOR THE SUBSIDIES OF THE AUZO-TAXI PROGRAM AND ITS PUBLIC CALL 2026 The Plenary City Council in a session held on September 7, 2021 agreed to approve the Regulatory Bases for the granting of aid for the Auzo-taxi program of Azpeitia. The Mayor's Office has approved the 2026 call by Resolution dated March 4, 2026. These subsidies are included in the 2026-2028 Strategic Plan approved by the Plenary Session on February 3, 2026 (BOG 02/25/2026). Given the trend of these subsidies, the environment and neighborhoods commission of February 12, 2026 has agreed to maintain the criteria of the last call. REGULATORY BASES FOR THE SUBSIDIES OF THE AUZO-TAXI PROGRAM AND ITS PUBLIC CALL 2026 As a consequence of the continuous transformation of society in recent years, due to the change in mobility that it has undergone, through a joint participatory process, the Azpeitia City Council has detected that residents of rural areas or neighborhoods have difficulties in traveling to the urban area due to the lack of transport service or the infrequency in existing cases. In this sense, and once the demands of citizens have been analyzed, the objective is to connect the urban center of Azpeitia with rural areas through the auzo-taxi program, thus improving accessibility. The objective of this system is that those citizens who do not have facilities to reach the urban center and cannot use the bus transportation service can approach it in a sustainable and appropriate way. To achieve this, the Azpeitia City Council has analyzed different forms and has seen that, in view of its resources and the best satisfaction of people's needs, the most appropriate is the neighborhood taxi program. In this way, users, within a flexible schedule and always upon request, will have a wide possibility of mobility. With the aim of coordinating the service, the City Council held a series of meetings with local taxi drivers, so that their contributions could be heard and the system would function as best as possible, and this year the same procedure was followed. All taxi drivers in the town have been given the opportunity to join this system and thus be able to offer the service, always having the taxi license of the town of Azpeitia. Budget credit and subsidy amount. The credit available for the granting of these subsidies is €10,000.00.
