[CULTURE-“Call for subsidies to town councils in the province of Palencia to support archaeological interventions”] First.-Beneficiaries All town councils of municipalities in the province of Palencia with a population of less than 20,000 inhabitants may apply for this aid, and they will undertake to contribute to the project presented an amount at least equal to the Provincial Council subsidy granted through this call. Second.- Objective To support the municipalities of the province of Palencia to carry out archaeological interventions in their municipal area. This subsidy is included within the measures to achieve Goal 11.4 “Protection of cultural and natural heritage” of the Sustainable Development Goals. Third.- Eligible actions Excavation project for a single archaeological site, which must have authorization from the Department of Culture of the Government of Castilla y León, in accordance with current regulations regarding archaeological interventions, as well as any other type of prior authorization necessary (owners, other Organizations, etc.). Archaeological excavations that are the result of the monitoring of projects or works required by current regulations or the competent Agency are excluded. Fourth.- Granting procedure and amount of the subsidy In accordance with Article 22.2 of Law 38/2003 of November 17, General Subsidies, the maximum global amount allocated to the subsidies (€40,000) will be prorated among the beneficiaries of the subsidy, with the maximum amount distributed among all applicants. The amount of the subsidy may not exceed 50% of the excavation budget. Fifth.- Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will end at midnight on June 20, 2026. Sixth.- The annexes and other documentation corresponding to this call will be available to interested parties at the electronic headquarters of the Provincial Council of Palencia https://sede.diputaciondepalencia.es in the Public information-Subsidies and aid section.
