Official description of the call
The Excma. Provincial Council of Valladolid, through the Education and Culture Service, calls the XXV Literary Contest "The Illustrated Story", year 2026, in accordance with the following BASES: First. - Purpose of the call The XXV Literary Contest "The Illustrated Story" Its purpose is to contribute to the promotion of reading and writing among schoolchildren in the province of Valladolid. In the case of children's second cycle students, to participate in this contest, they must present an original and unpublished graphic work in DIN A-3 or DIN A-2 format, made jointly by the students of the classroom in question. In the case of primary school students, participants must submit their original and unpublished stories to the contest, written and illustrated, individually. The theme will be free. The length of the stories will be a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 pages on both sides, DIN A-4 size, preferably handwritten. Second. - Legal Regime This call will be governed by the provisions of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies (LGS), in Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the General Subsidies Regulation and by the rest of the applicable legislation. This call is made in accordance with the general bases regulating subsidies of the Provincial Council of Valladolid contained in the General Ordinance of Subsidies of the Provincial Council, approved by Plenary Agreement dated February 24, 2006, and published in BOP No. 54, dated March 6, 2006, and is framed within the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Provincial Council of Valladolid, year 2026, which is included as an annex to the general budget, approved by the Plenary Session initially in the session held on November 28, 2025, and elevated to final by publication in the BOP of Valladolid No. 2025/248, of 12/30/2025, and whose objective is to promote reading and writing among schoolchildren in the Tercera province. - Beneficiaries The Early Childhood Education Classrooms, second cycle, and Primary Education students, enrolled in the 2025-2026 school year in municipalities in the province of Valladolid with less than 20,000 inhabitants, may be presented and, therefore, may be beneficiaries of the awards. For this purpose, four categories are established: 1) Preschool students (second cycle, from 3 to 6 years old) 2) First cycle students (1st and 2nd grades of primary school). 3) Second cycle students (3rd and 4th grades of primary school). 4) Third cycle students (5th and 6th grades of primary school). Quarter. - Children's Prizes: - 1st prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €350 - 2nd prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €250 - 3rd prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €140 Primary: The prizes for each of the three cycles are as follows: - 1st prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €180 - 2nd prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €120 - 3rd prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €90 - 4th prize: lot of books, teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at €90 teaching material or audiovisual material, valued at 400 euros, to the school to which the winner of the first prize belongs in each of the three categories of primary education established in the third clause. For the payment of these prizes, whose total amount amounts to three thousand three hundred and eighty euros (€3,380.00), there is budget availability in budget application 204.332.10.226.99 of the current Budget. School centers and students, winners of any of the prizes announced, may purchase the batch of books, teaching materials or audiovisual material that is the object of the prize in any public establishment whose purpose is the sale of the aforementioned material, until December 31, 2026. The amount will be paid to the establishment that supplied it, upon presentation of the corresponding invoice to this Provincial Council, and a copy of the gift check identifying the prize.
