On 07/17/2026, the Local Government Board approved the call for competitive subsidies aimed at promoting commercial activity. With it, the Department of Economic Development of the Alhaurín el Grande City Council supports small local entrepreneurs who begin their commercial or professional activity during the indicated period, which contributes to promoting commercial and business development in our town. As a general rule, beneficiaries will be considered those commercial establishments and professional activities, with a maximum of 10 workers, that have started their commercial activity in the period between September 1, 2025 and August 31, 2026, whether they are self-employed, companies or cooperatives with their relevant opening license or responsible declaration in case the first is not necessary. These subsidies are compatible with any other administration requested for this purpose. There are 2 help lines. The first is aimed at businesses that are located outside the historic commercial center and carries an amount of 400 euros. While the second, restricted to newly opened businesses in the historic commercial center, involves an aid of 800 euros. General implementation expenses will be considered those that refer to the acquisition of goods or the contracting of services necessary for the start-up of the economic activity. Likewise, financial expenses, legal or financial advisory expenses, notary and registration expenses and expert expenses for carrying out the subsidized project and specific administration expenses are eligible for subsidies if they are directly related to the subsidized activity and are essential for its proper preparation or execution.
