1. Purpose of the call. The purpose of the call is the award of the subsidy on a competitive basis to support programs and activities aimed at the elderly in the city of Girona, for the year 2026. 2. Concession procedure The procedure for granting the subsidies is carried out within the framework provided for by title II of the General Subsidy Ordinance of the Girona City Council, its autonomous bodies and entities that depend on it approved by Plenary Agreement dated December 9, 2025. The subsidies will be awarded through a competitive competition procedure and in accordance with the principles of publicity, transparency, competition, objectivity, equality and non-discrimination, effectiveness and efficiency, in accordance with what is established in this call and the bases that regulate it. The concession procedure begins with the publication of this call once approved by the competent body. 3. Amount of subsidies The amount of the subsidy is up to a maximum of one hundred thousand euros (€100,000) and will be financed from the following budget item: 2026 510 23100 48001- (Casales Gente Mayor Subsidies), and will be allocated to: Modality I – Aid to the programs and activities of municipal centers. Associations of pensioners and retirees and/or entities related to older people that collaborate in the management of municipal senior centers in different neighborhoods of the city of Girona. The amount of the subsidy, 90% of the total project budget, with a maximum amount of €10,000. The final amount of the subsidy will be determined based on the budget presented and the budget availability of the call. Modality II – Aid for other programs and activities for older people organized by associations of pensioners and retirees and/or non-profit entities in the different neighborhoods of the city. The amount of the subsidy will be, at most, 50% of the total budget of the project with a maximum of €5,000. The amount of the subsidy is determined in this call, subject to the approval of the budget, without prejudice to any increases in the amount that may be agreed upon during the validity of the budget year, in accordance with art. 58.2 of Regulation 887/2006, of July 21, developing the General Subsidies Law. 4. Beneficiary entities and associations Eligible for the subsidies provided for in this call are legally constituted entities and associations that effectively develop activities aimed at older people in the different neighborhoods of the city of Girona, with projects, programs or activities aimed at this group, which will have to comply: The statutory objectives of the applicants must be related to the purpose of the aid for which they opt. Applicants must have justified in a timely manner any subsidy previously granted by Girona City Council. Applicants must be up to date with compliance with tax obligations with the City Council, with other administrations and with Social Security. Applicants cannot find themselves in any of the situations provided for in article 13 of the LGS, nor can groups of people when any of them find themselves in any of these situations. Each applicant entity may only present one project per call.
