Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries All those who have presented the TFG or TFM between January 1, 2022 and July 30, 2023 at a Valencian University and whose main topic is related to Smart Cities or Smart Areas may participate. Second. Purpose The purpose of this call is the granting of a prize for the best TFG and a prize for the best TFM that accredit compliance with the requirements stipulated in the regulatory bases of the procedure. These awards have the purpose of promoting the development of solutions that incorporate different areas of action related to Smart Cities or Smart Areas, such as those detailed below, and that certify compliance with the requirements stipulated in these regulatory bases of the procedure. • Development of solutions that contribute to environmental sustainability and the reduction of the carbon footprint in urban or rural environments. • Improving mobility by addressing the optimization of public transport, the reduction of traffic congestion, or the promotion of sustainable means of transport such as bicycles or public transport. • Energy efficiency in buildings, lighting systems and electrical networks. • Citizen participation in decision-making related to the management of the city or area. • Waste management optimizing collection and recycling, thus reducing environmental impact. • Security and prevention, either through monitoring or early warning systems. • Education, awareness and behavioral changes on topics related to Smart Cities or Smart Areas, encouraging the adoption of sustainable behaviors. Third. Regulatory bases Accessible at https://www.upv.es/contenidos/SMARTIA/ Cuarto. Amount A prize of €1000 is established for the best TFG and another prize of €1000 for the best TFM. The financial allocation of the prizes will be subject to the corresponding withholding established by current regulations. Fifth. Application submission period The application submission period will be open from the day following the publication of the extract of this resolution in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana and ends 20 business days after its publication.
