Call and regulatory bases for the XVI illustrated story contest "stories for equality" 2025

Official description of the call

First. Participants: All people of legal age, regardless of their nationality, who present original and unpublished works, written in Spanish, may participate. They will not have been published, nor will they be pending publication -with the same or another title-, nor disseminated in other media of expression and communication, whether in printed or digital format. These must not have been awarded in any other contest, nor be pending resolution in other contests. Second. Requirements: All works will be signed with a pseudonym, and it is essential to register using the following form: https://forms.gle/PB1hFA86uP46zpoKA. Personal data will remain anonymous and in the possession of the Technical Secretariat of the Equality Delegation of the Dos Hermanas City Council. The purpose of said data is to manage the contest. The works will preferably be submitted electronically, through the registration form: https://forms.gle/TQDXcVX558AcNcUv6, attaching the story in low-resolution PDF format, or by any of the means permitted by article 16.4. of Law 39/2015 on Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. The narration of the illustrated story will be aimed at girls and boys between 3 and 8 years old. It must be written in non-sexist language (the City Council may adapt the winning work to non-sexist language). The works will be edited for publication, and may benefit from spelling and style corrections that will be agreed upon with the author. The content of the illustrated story must promote egalitarian relationships and the breakdown of sexist roles and stereotypes. The proposal must address the album concept; That is, a book in which the story is told through images and text, in such a way that they complete each other or are closely related. The technique to be used in the illustrations may be any reproducible in printing. The maximum length will be 25 pages. Third. Regulatory bases. The Regulatory Bases of the XVI Illustrated Story Contest “Stories for Equality” published in https://sede.doshermanas.es/sta/docs/GetDocumentServlet?CUD=15707773137146232373&HASH_CUD=b29ecf41b979b582d97500cb210a9eeda8f7d558&APP_CODE=STA Fourth. Amount. The amount of the prize will be €1,000, awarded entirely to a single work, as well as 25 copies of the publication. The amount of the prize will be effective after reducing the corresponding personal income tax in force. The jury may award second prize, without a financial prize, if it considers it appropriate; recognizing the same with a diploma. If, in the opinion of the jury, the works do not meet the quality and thematic criteria required in the rules of this contest, the contest may be declared void. The jury's decision will be final and will be made public on the City Council's website: www.doshermanas.es Fifth. Deadline for submission of works. The deadline for admission of works will be from the day following their publication in BOP and will be open until two months later. Sixth. Other data. The work will be published and disseminated in the city's schools as well as on the occasion of any of the Programs and Campaigns of the Equality Delegation. The winner exclusively, totally, free and irrevocably transfers all rights of unlimited reproduction in time and place without this being hindered by the intellectual property right that corresponds to the author who, in the case of using his or her winning work in whole or in part, must expressly indicate, and state in it, the reservation of the rights that correspond to the City Council of Dos Hermanas, in accordance with the provisions of Art. 48 of the Intellectual Property Law. Participation in this contest implies full acceptance of its rules, and the jury will discard the stories that do not meet the conditions set out here. If during the development of the contest it is found that any of the works presented have been plagiarized, the organization will automatically disqualify the person and their work. The participants exempt the Equality Delegation of the Dos Hermanas City Council from responsibility for plagiarism or any transgression of current regulations on intellectual property that may be incurred. The Equality Delegation is empowered to resolve any contingency not provided for in the bases.
