Official description of the call

BDNS: First Object 1. The object of this order is to convene the literary contest "Cuéntame la UE" for 2025. The candidatures will consist of the presentation of stories in the Spanish language, which must be original and unpublished. 2. The aid regulated in the call is intended for the granting of prizes in kind consisting of a cultural trip related to the European Union for the winners of the aforementioned children's literature contest. Each contestant will be able to participate in the contest with an original story of their authorship for each category: first category for children in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of Primary Education and second category for children in 4th, 5th and 6th grade of Primary Education and may be awarded in both, 3. This contest has the purpose of bringing the European Union closer to the children's public by promoting the creation of stories by authors of children's literature, aimed at their later use as material in campaigns. story telling for children. Second Beneficiaries All natural persons of legal age, residing in the Community of Madrid, may participate in the contest, provided they present their candidatures in accordance with the call. Compliance with these requirements must be carried out by the applicants submitting the supporting documentation set out in section 7 of the Call Order. Third Regulatory bases The call and award of the prizes will be carried out in accordance with the Order of February 21, 2025 of the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, which approves the regulatory bases that will govern the calls for the literary contest "Cuéntame la UE", modified by the Order of May 19, 2025 of the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, it must be understood that all the references included in they are made, on the date of publication of the call, to the Director or General Directorate of Cooperation with the State and the European Union (Calle Carretas 4, Madrid) of the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration. Fourth Prizes: endowment and concession 1. The maximum amount allocated to the financing of all the prizes in the call for the year 2025 will amount to 12,000 euros 2. Among all the applications, those who will respectively receive a first prize, a second prize and a third prize, which will consist of a cultural trip to a destination linked to the European Union, will be selected for each category. These trips will be valued at the following maximum amounts and destinations: • "SMALL" CATEGORY (stories intended for an audience in 1st-3rd Primary Education). - First prize: a trip to Strasbourg for a maximum amount of €3,000 - Second prize: a trip to Brussels for a maximum amount of €2,000 - Third prize: a trip to a Spanish city that has been the European Capital of Culture, which could be Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela or San Sebastián, for a maximum amount of €1,000. • "OLDER" CATEGORY (stories intended for an audience in 4th-6th Primary Education) - First prize: a trip to Strasbourg for a maximum amount of €3,000 - Second prize: a trip to Brussels for a maximum amount of €2,000 - Third prize: a trip to a Spanish city that has been the European Capital of Culture, which could be Salamanca, Santiago de Compostela or San Sebastián, for a maximum amount of €1,000. 2. The amount of the prizes will be subject to tax withholdings according to Spanish tax legislation since they constitute a capital gain subject to taxation in the personal income tax of the beneficiary. The Community of Madrid will make a payment on account of 19% of the value of the prize, which will be considered the highest value of the prize, for tax purposes. Fifth Evaluation of the candidatures and evaluation criteria 1. The Technical Evaluation Commission will examine the candidatures and carry out its evaluation considering the literary quality, the relationship with the theme proposed in section 3 and the adequacy of the didactic guidelines, in accordance with the following criteria: a) Originality, creativity and literary quality of the proposal (50%) This criterion will evaluate: 1º The originality and creativity of the narrative approach. 2º The quality of the use of language, including the vocabulary, style and structure of the story. 3º Coherence and c
