Official description of the call
FIRST. OBJECT OF THE CALL The Entrepreneurs Award 2026 is one of the Madrid City Council's lines of recognition for the work of women entrepreneurs. The main objective of this award is to contribute to the recognition of original, creative and innovative business projects led by women to promote and boost female entrepreneurship, as well as the generation of employment and increased economic activity in the country, contributing to eliminating the existing gender gap. SECOND. BENEFICIARIES Companies (natural or legal persons) that meet the following requirements may participate in the Entrepreneurs 2026 Award: 1. They must be SMEs, according to the definition established in the Recommendation of the European Commission of May 6, 2003 (OJEU No. 124, of May 20, 2003). 2. Be constituted in one of the following legal forms: a) Natural person: individual or self-employed entrepreneur, limited liability entrepreneur, communities of property and civil companies. b) Legal entity: public limited company, limited company, new company limited company, labor limited company, cooperatives and associations that carry out an economic activity on a regular basis. 3.Be more than 50% owned by women. More than 50% of the company's shares or participations must be owned by women. 4.Have started their business activity as of January 1, 2019. Applications from companies created prior to this date will be accepted, provided that they apply for the award with a new line of business and it is duly proven that it has been started between January 1, 2019 and the date of publication of the call. 5.Have issued billing for the company or new line of business with which the award is submitted, prior to the date of publication of the call. 6.Have a business project that is original, creative, disruptive and innovative, with or without a technological base, aimed at covering needs in different areas: environment, health and well-being, gastronomy, education, retail, fashion, finance, e-commerce, tourism, industry, infrastructure, logistics, energy or similar. 7.Have a service or a product prototype tested in the market with already measured or measurable results. 8. Be up to date with the payment of tax and Social Security obligations and obligations for reimbursement of subsidies. 9.Not being subject to any of the causes of prohibition to receive subsidies established in article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies. Accreditation of compliance with requirements 5.1, 5.3, 5.4, 5.6, 5.8 and 5.9 will be made through the responsible declaration included in the application form. THIRD. REGULATORY BASES Annex to the Decree of February 2, 2026 of the Delegate of the Government Area of Economy, Innovation and Finance by which the call for the Entrepreneurs Award 2026 is approved. Ordinance of General Regulatory Bases for the granting of Subsidies by the Madrid City Council and its Autonomous Bodies of October 30, 2013, published on www.madrid.es, Law 38/2003, of November 17, General of Subsidies, and Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the Regulations of the Law 38/2003; and by virtue of the provisions of the Agreement of June 29, 2023 of the Government Board of the City of Madrid on the organization and powers of the Government Area of Economy, Innovation and Finance. ROOM. AMOUNT The amount contributed by the Madrid City Council amounts to 100,000 euros, broken down as follows: 1A first prize “Entrepreneur of the year 2026” will be awarded, financially endowed with 20,000 euros. 2A second prize “Entrepreneur of the year 2026” will be awarded with a financial prize of 15,000 euros. 3A third prize “Entrepreneur of the year 2026” will be awarded with a financial prize of 10,000 euros. 411 second prizes will be awarded, with a financial prize of 5,000 euros each, in the following categories: a) Entrepreneur from Madrid. b) Entrepreneurship and innovation centers of the Madrid City Council. c)Best elevator pitch. d) Greater potential for growth and projection. e) Technological field.
