Extract of the agreement adopted by the Local Government Board on February 23, 2026 of the Santiago de Compostela City Council, (Reference file number: 2026/00001439A) by which the bases and call for the Xohana Torres Prize for Essay, Research and Audiovisual Creation on Women in Galician society were approved, Call 2026. Text: In accordance with the provisions of the articles 17.3 b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database. First. Beneficiaries. Any natural person may attend this call individually or in a group without legal personality. The groups must expressly state, both in the application and when the concession is resolved, the execution commitments assumed by each of their members, as well as the percentage of subsidy that will be applied to them. All members of the group will have the status of beneficiaries, as stated in article 11 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general on subsidies, and will be obliged to appoint a person or sole representative of the group, with sufficient powers to comply with the obligations that, as beneficiary, correspond to the group. People who wish to participate, both individually and collectively, may not incur any of the prohibitions provided for in article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, general on subsidies, and in other corresponding legislation. Likewise, they must be up to date with their tax and Social Security obligations and not have any outstanding debt with the City Council of Santiago de Compostela. Second. Object. The works submitted for the award will deal with the participation of women in society and will aim to highlight the leading role or the neglect of women in the different areas of Galician society. They may be of a historical, political, scientific, literary, artistic nature, etc. They may take the form of an essay, scientific research or audiovisual composition, and will always refer to Galician women or experiences of women in Galicia. Third. Requirements of the works. The works presented must be, in any case, unpublished works and not previously awarded. The originals submitted to the contest will be presented unsigned under a pseudonym and will not contain any element that allows the author or group to be identified. The format of the works will have to fit into one of the two modalities of the award: ? essay/research? or audiovisual creation Failure to comply with these requirements will result in automatic exclusion from participation in the call. Quarter. Form of presentation of the works. Essay/research modality: a) Participants must submit a single work in digital format and in duplicate, in PDF format with a maximum size of 100 MB. The copies will be delivered on each of your pendrive. b) The works will have a minimum length of 150 pages and a maximum of 300, double spaced, font size 12, with margins of 2.5 centimeters, single-sided and numbered. c) The works must be presented with the following structure: introduction, which expresses the topic and objective of the work; development, with the presentation and analysis of the topic; conclusions and bibliography, with references to the sources consulted. Audiovisual creation modality: a) Audiovisual works may correspond to any type of artistic expression and will have a minimum duration of 15 minutes. b) They will be presented in duplicate on each of your pendrives, which will include a copy of the video. Fifth. Regulatory bases. The regulatory bases incorporated into this Call. Sixth. Place of presentation and manner of presentation of applications. Only works that are presented in accordance with the provisions of these rules under a pseudonym and with escrow that prevent recognition of the identity of the author or group prior to the ruling will be admitted, taking into account the following indications: For the presentation of applications, any of the means provided for in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, of the Common Administrative Procedure of Admissions may be used.
