Object and purpose The purpose of these rules is to regulate, under a competitive competition regime, the granting of the Cartagena 2026 Local Commerce Awards, organized by the Hon. Cartagena City Council through the Department of Commerce. These awards seek to recognize, promote and give visibility to the work carried out by local businesses as a key piece of the economic and social development of the municipality, favoring commercial activity, job creation and the revitalization of urban areas. Legal regime of the call The call will be governed by the Regulatory Bases approved by Agreement of the Local Government Board, in session no. 92/09.26, dated April 29, 2026 and which are available at the following link: https://www.cartagena.es/becas_ayudas_subvenciones.asp. In aspects not provided for by them, the provisions of the Bases for the Execution of the Municipal Budget 2026, in Law 38/2003, of November 17, General of Subsidies, in Royal Decree 887/2006, of July 21, which approves the Regulation of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General of Subsidies, will apply. in Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, and any other regulatory provision that, due to its nature, may be applicable. Each of the winners will receive a unique prize of 1,500 euros. The following modalities are established, for which applicants may only compete in one of them: 1) “Raíces” Commerce Award, intended to recognize consolidated businesses with a history of more than ten years that have maintained their essence and connection with the community. 2) Commerce “Commitment” Award, aimed at businesses that stand out for the generation of stable and quality employment. 3) “Legend of the Santa Florentina Market” Award, intended for owners of commercial units in the market that stand out for their continuity, adaptation and commitment to it. 4) "Ideas" Award for Commerce", aimed at businesses started on or after January 1, 2025 that stand out for their creativity and innovation. 5) "Neighbors" Award for Commerce, aimed at small neighborhood businesses that stand out for their proximity, neighborhood involvement and continuity. Beneficiaries Individuals and legal entities, who carry out the activity of retail trade and who meet the requirements of the Call, may be beneficiaries of the awards. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will begin on the day following the publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia and will end on September 1, 2026 inclusive.
