Extract from the call: OBJECT AND PURPOSE: The purpose of this call is to establish the regulation for the granting, on a non-competitive basis, of aid for the study of languages for the active population of the island of Gran Canaria (unemployed or employed people) in order to improve their professional skills through the acquisition, improvement and accreditation of the learning of foreign languages. This subsidy is intended for carrying out training actions or the official linguistic accreditation test in any language, including sign language, as long as they correspond to the levels established in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). ACTIVITY TO BE SUBSIDIZED: The activity to be subsidized is divided into the following types of actions: ACTION 1. Training: It consists of carrying out training actions in any language, including sign language, in any modality (face-to-face, online or mixed) taught by a language training center specialized in teaching linguistic levels in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, as well as in the preparation of official exams. Language training provided by official public centers publicly financed by the state or regional educational system that offer language teaching under a regulated regime will not be eligible for subsidies. The training actions must be carried out in the period between January 1, 2026 and April 30, 2027. ACTION 2. Official exam: It consists of carrying out an official linguistic accreditation exam in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference. This exam must refer to all the skills (reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and oral expression) of any of the levels of foreign language proficiency according to the aforementioned Common Framework of Languages (levels A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 or C2) in any language, including sign language. Linguistic accreditation tests carried out by official public centers publicly financed by the state or regional educational system that offer language teaching under a regulated regime will not be eligible for subsidies. The official exam must be carried out in the period between January 1, 2026 and April 30, 2027. BENEFICIARIES Unemployed and employed persons may be beneficiaries of any of the actions contemplated in the FOURTH Provision of this call, except those who are employees of the Public Administrations and/or entities of the institutional public sector, in accordance with article 2 of the law. 40/2015, of October 1, on the Legal Regime of the Public Sector. Beneficiaries of active employment policies (First Professional Experience Programs in Public Administrations, New Employment Opportunities, Second Chance Youth Guarantee Program, Training Programs in Alternation with Employment, or similar) who provide their services in the public sector will not be understood to fall within the exception stipulated in the previous paragraph. Nor will those people who participate in predoctoral programs or equivalent training whose purpose is exclusively research or academic development that provide their services in Public Universities be included in the exception. Beneficiaries must also meet the following requirements: Be residents of the island of Gran Canaria. Be over 16 years old and not over 65 years old. People who are unemployed and registered as job seekers, or employed people. Not attend under any of the circumstances established in sections 2 and 3 of article 13 of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies. All of the above requirements must be met on the date of application submission. Those applicants who have been beneficiaries of the call for Aid to the study of languages for the active population of the Island of Gran Canaria (Annuity 2025) for the same Action already previously subsidized, understood as such, those that coincide in Language and Level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (MECR) will not be eligible for this call.
