First. Object and purposeThe object of these rules is to establish the criteria and procedures that will regulate the granting of the XXXIII “Álvaro Cunqueiro” National Prize for Gastronomic Journalism, promoting the dissemination of Galician cuisine.Second. BeneficiariesWriters, journalists and individuals who have published articles, books, interviews, reports, cartoons, photographs, comments, etc., in Galician, Spanish or any other language, in the different media (press, radio, television, social networks and publications), on topics related to Galician gastronomy in particular and gastronomy in general, in the last two years, may take part in this contest. In addition, students of the Degree in Journalism, Advertising and Audiovisual Communication that present their academic work related to gastronomy. Third. Applications, deadline, place and form of presentationThe works will be presented, in an original copy, either by its author or by third parties or entities, through a general request duly completed and signed at the electronic headquarters of the Lalín City Council, accompanied by a writing addressed to the Mayor-President with the name, personal data, contact telephone number, responsible declaration in accordance with Annex I and curriculum vitae of the author (and, where appropriate, also of the person presenting the work).The deadline for the presentation will begin the day after the publication of the extract of the call in the BOP sent by the BDNS and will end on November 30, 2026.Fourth. Award and prizesThe prizes, for a total amount of €5,000, are subdivided into the following categories:Prize worth €4,000 for the best journalistic work presented among all categories.Prize worth €1,000 for the best academic work presented by students and recent graduates, in order to promote the new values of the journalistic profession.Fifth. Regulatory bases Regulatory bases and call for the XXXIII “Álvaro Cunqueiro” National Gastronomic Journalism Award (Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra number 123 of July 1, 2026) Sole final provision Participation in the contest implies acceptance of the bases, the interpretation of which will be up to the jury.
