Official description of the call

First. Beneficiaries People who meet the following requirements may participate: • Have defended their doctoral thesis at a Spanish university during the period between October 1, 2024 and 3 days before the final date for submitting applications. • Have obtained a grade of “Outstanding Cum Laude”. • The main topic must be related to the analysis of impacts, mitigation and adaptation to climate change in the Spanish Mediterranean arc. Second. Purpose The purpose of this call is to award a prize to the best Doctoral Thesis that stands out the most for its technical and/or scientific quality, innovative nature and positive impact on the mitigation and/or adaptation to climate change in the Spanish Mediterranean arc, which accredits compliance with the requirements stipulated in the regulatory bases of the procedure. The Spanish Mediterranean arc is considered to be made up of the five regions of the eastern shore of the Iberian Peninsula corresponding to the Autonomous Communities of Catalonia, Valencia, the Balearic Islands, Murcia and Andalusia. This award aims to encourage and promote research excellence on topics related to the impact, mitigation and adaptation to climate change. Third. Regulatory bases Accessible at https://www.iiama.upv.es/catclima/ Fourth. Amount The prize is endowed with a maximum of €2,000 corresponding to the best Doctoral Thesis, and €1,000 corresponding to the Second Prize, plus the travel expenses of the winners, if necessary, for the award ceremony (up to a maximum of €300 per person). The financial amount of the prize will be subject to the corresponding withholding established by current regulations. Fifth. Application submission period The application submission period will be open from the day following the publication of the extract of this resolution in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana and ends on 09/10/2026.
