12 common mistakes when applying for a subsidy

Many applications fail not for lack of a good project but because of predictable administrative details. This final check helps you spot the most common mistakes before registering.

1. Mistakes before submitting

Confusing the total budget with the individual grant; not checking beneficiaries; using a call from a different territory; starting to spend too early; or preparing a report that doesn't address the scoring criteria.

It's also common to use an outdated form, forget mandatory annexes, submit amounts that don't match, or have someone without sufficient representation sign.

2. Mistakes during registration

Waiting until the last minute, exceeding the file size limit, attaching unreadable documents, registering through the wrong channel, or closing the office without downloading the receipt.

After sending, open the receipt and check the date, registration number, applicant and list of annexes. If something's missing, immediately ask whether a new filing or an addition is possible.

3. Mistakes after submitting

Not checking notifications, replying late, changing the project without authorization, paying in cash when traceability is required, or not keeping expenses accounted for separately.

The best prevention is a single folder with the rules, application, annexes, receipts, communications, invoices and payments; plus a calendar with owners for corrections, execution and justification.
