CALL FOR THE XXIX VILLA DE TORRE-PACHECO SHORT STORY CONTEST 2023, APPROVED BY RESOLUTION Nº 2023002324, OF JULY 31, 2023 (REGULATORY RULES PUBLISHED IN BORM Nº 104, OF MAY 8, 2023)

Official description of the call
First.- Beneficiaries: Article 5 of the Regulatory Bases. People over 18 years of age of any nationality, residing in Spain who wish to participate in the “Villa de Torre Pacheco Short Story Contest” may participate in the “Villa de Torre Pacheco Short Story Contest”, except those winners of previous editions, provided that the works they submit conform to the commonly accepted concept of short story or story: a) They are written in Spanish. b) Be original. c) They are strictly unpublished and have not previously been awarded in any other contest. d) They do not correspond to authors who died prior to the submission of the work to this Contest e) They are not subject to any editing commitment. f) Each participant may compete with only one entry. In the call, therefore, all writers over 18 years of age, residing in Spain who wish to participate, may participate, provided that the works they submit conform to the commonly accepted concept of story or short story and are written in Spanish, are original, rigorously unpublished and have not previously been awarded in any other competition, nor do they correspond to authors who died prior to the submission of the work to this Contest. Each participant may compete with only one entry. Second.- Object: The Villa de Torre Pacheco Short Story Contest and the Short Story Contest of the Municipal Public Library aim to promote literary creation and encourage the habit of reading and writing among the population, promote literary values as cultural heritage, and enhance the talent and artistic creation of people of all ages and conditions. On the other hand, it also seeks to strengthen collaboration between the educational community of Torre Pacheco and the municipal Department responsible for Culture, through artistic creation. Format: The work destined to compete will have a maximum length of four pages, in Arial 12 font, and 1.5 line spacing on one side only. Shipping method. Documents that must accompany the application. The originals will be sent in PDF using the online form enabled at www.mundoarti.com, signed with a pseudonym and headed by a title. Next, the online escrow will be completed with the personal data and a signed declaration, written by the author, will be attached that expresses the acceptance of the bases and conditions of this Contest, as well as the guarantee that the work is not pending the decision of any other contest and that the author has the free disposal of all exploitation rights over the work in any form and in its different modalities. The evaluation criteria. The jury's assessment criteria will be based on the creativity and originality of the work, the structure and rhythm of the narrative, the richness of the language used and coherence in the development of the work, in accordance with article 10 of the regulatory bases. The members of the Jury are designated in the call, approved by Resolution No. 2023002323, of July 31, 2023, and in accordance with article 9 of the regulatory bases. Third.- Regulatory bases: This call is regulated by Resolution No. 2023002323, of July 31, 2023, of the Delegate Councilor for Finance, Culture and Tourism of the Torre-Pacheco City Council, and is governed by the Regulatory Bases of the Villa de Torre Pacheco Short Story Contest and the Micro-story Contest of the Municipal Public Library, initially approved in session plenary session dated December 29, 2022, made final by Resolution No. 2023001070 of the Mayor-President of Torre Pacheco, dated April 10, 2023, and published in the B.O.R.M. no. 104, of May 8, 2023.
