Extract from the Agreement of the Research Commission of the University of Alcalá of November 20, 2023, by which the University of Alcalá Awards for the Best National Patent are announced - Call 2024 BDNS: 731678 In accordance with the provisions of articles 17.3.b and 20.8.a of Law 38/2003, of November 17, General Subsidies, the extract of the call is published, the full text of which can be consulted in the National Subsidies Database (http://www.pap.minhap.gob.es/bdnstrans/index). First. Beneficiaries. Teaching and Research Personnel of the University of Alcalá who appear as an inventor in a national patent application granted between September 1, 2023 and August 31, 2024 before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (OEPM), and whose ownership or co-ownership of the patent corresponds to the UAH and has been managed by the Research Results Transfer Office (OTRI)). Second. Object. Recognize the most relevant scientific-technological advances, for the solution of an industrial or social problem, patented in Spain by researchers and/or research groups of the University of Alcalá Tercero. Regulatory bases. Amount. Prizes: A first prize of €1,000, taxes included, plus accrediting diploma, provided that the patent is 100% owned by the University of Alcalá. If the patent were co-owned, the first prize award would be the proportional part of this amount according to the percentage of co-ownership of the University of Alcalá. A second prize worth €500, taxes included, plus accrediting diploma, as long as the patent is 100% owned by the University of Alcalá. If the patent were co-owned, the secondment award would be the proportional part of this amount according to the percentage of co-ownership of the University of Alcalá. The total amount of this call is €1,500 and will be financed from the OTRI cost centers 30400M110 and 30400M800. Fifth. Deadline and submission of applications. The period for submitting applications will be open from the day following the publication of this call and until September 15, 2024. The application and the presentation of the required documentation will be submitted to the Central Registry or the peripheral Registries of the University of Alcalá, or by any of the means contemplated in art. 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations addressed to the OTRI of the UAH. The subject will be indicated: “2024 UAH Award for the Best National Patent” and must include the documentation indicated in the call. Sixth. Awards and selection criteria. Applications will be evaluated by an Assessment Commission made up of doctoral researchers or professors and researchers who meet the status of vocal members of the Research Commission of the University of Alcalá. It will be chaired by the person who holds the Research and Internationalization Directorate or, in the event of a vacant absence or impossibility, by the person who holds the Transfer Directorate. The person responsible for the Research Management Service will act as secretary, with voice and without vote. Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria: Novelty, inventive activity and industrial application of the Patent. Relevance of protected knowledge and social and business interest. Degree of applicability of the patented knowledge. Agreements already concluded with other entities for possible licensing of the Patent. Innovative trajectory of the inventor(s) and/or the research group to which he/she belongs, taking into account the volume of projects with companies and transfer of verifiable research results.
