OF 07/22/2024 PUBLIC AID FOR THE TEMPORARY PARALYZATION OF THE FISHING FLEET OF THE REGION OF MURCIA IN THE MODALITIES OF PURSESEINNING, SURFACE LONGLINE AND TOWING, FOR THE PURPOSES OF 2024

Official description of the call

First.-Object. Call for aid provided for in Regulation (EU) n2021/1139, of July 7, relating to the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund, developed by Royal Decree 1173/2015, of December 29, relating to the temporary cessation of fishing activity, in relation to the stops of the trawling, purse seining and longlining fleet that has a base port in the Region of Murcia. Second.-Beneficiaries. In general, natural or legal persons, public or private entities, communities of property or any other type of grouping of those, provided that they meet the general requirements established in the order, as well as the specific requirements required for the corresponding aid. Specifically: a) The owners of fishing vessels that are registered as active in the General Registry of the Fishing Fleet and have carried out a fishing activity of at least 120 days at sea, during the two years prior to the date of submission of the aid application. b) Fishermen who have worked at sea for at least 120 days during the two years prior to the date of submission of the aid application, on board a fishing vessel affected by the temporary cessation. Third.-Regulatory Bases. Order of March 6, 2024 of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries establishing the regulatory bases for the granting of aid for temporary and permanent cessation of the fishing activity of the fishing fleet of the Region of Murcia. (BORM no. 61 of March 13, 2024). Fourth.-Submission of applications and deadline. Two application periods have been established: A. Fifteen (15) business days, starting from the day following the publication of the extract of this Order in the “BORM”, for temporary stops carried out in the purse seine, longline and bottom trawl modalities in their first section described in article 1 of this Call Order. B. From November 6 to November 11, 2024, both inclusive, for the temporary stop corresponding to the second section in the bottom trawling modality, described in article 1 of this Call Order. Fifth.-Amount of aid. The call is endowed with a maximum total amount of 1,328,403.70 euros, which is distributed as follows: A. For temporary stops carried out during the year 2024 in the purse seine and longline modalities, 705,848.35 euros. B. For temporary stops carried out during the year 2024 in the towing modalities (first and second period), 622,555.35 euros. The maximum amount of aid per beneficiary is specified in article 7 of the Call Order. Sixth.-Justification and payment. The payment of the corresponding aid will be made after justification by the beneficiary of not carrying out the trawling fishing activity during the period of temporary stoppage, in accordance with the regulatory bases.
