Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries 1. Natural or legal persons, groups of natural or legal persons, communities of property or any other type of economic unit or separate property without legal personality who are owners of an agricultural holding and who are committed to improving the landscape value, reducing possible impacts on the environment and natural heritage, and meet the following requirements may be beneficiaries of this aid: a) The agricultural holding must have a professional farmer (AP) b) The The activity of the exploitation must generate, at least, 1 unit of agricultural work (UTA). For orchard and/or fruit farms exclusively, it must generate a minimum of 0.5 ATU. c) The farm must be registered in the Registry of Agricultural Farms (REA) and the data that appears will be used as a basis to calculate the requirements to be able to apply for the CARB (it will be verified ex officio). d) Farms that apply for the CARB must have a maximum livestock density of 1.5 livestock units per hectare (UBM/ha). e) Livestock farms must comply with the livestock manure management plan, which must take into account the number and species of livestock on the farm, pasture rotations, stabling hours, waste distribution, etc. f) The farm undertakes not to use transgenic corn seeds or other plants in any of the crops it grows, nor for livestock self-consumption, nor for sale, nor on an experimental basis. Second. Purpose The purpose of this call for aid is to establish compensation for the owners of agricultural and livestock farms for their contribution to the recovery and maintenance of biodiversity and to preserve the traditional rural landscape, of high environmental and cultural value. The compensation for the owners of the holdings will be based on the non-productive actions carried out from the publication of the call until July 31, 2025. Third. Regulatory bases The call will be governed by the regulatory bases approved by the Executive Council of the Island Council of Menorca, in an ordinary session on November 18, 2024. Fourth. Amount The maximum global amount of the call is €1,100,000 (one million one hundred thousand euros). Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will be 30 calendar days counting from the day following the date of publication of this call in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB). Sixth. Other information The maximum individual base amount of CARB aid will be €5,000 per beneficiary farm. This amount may be increased to a maximum of €7,000 per exploitation if the increases provided for in the bases can be added. The owner of an agricultural holding is understood to be any natural or legal person, groups of natural or legal persons, communities of property or any other type of economic unit or separate property without legal personality that agriculturally exploits one or more rural properties. The requirements set forth in the first point of this extract must be met prior to the date on which the application submission period ends and must be maintained until the aid justification period ends. Only one application can be submitted per farm and farmer.
