Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries 1. Natural persons who meet the following conditions may be beneficiaries of the aid: — Be classified in the Spanish championship among the top eight. — Be classified in the European Championship among the top ten. — Be classified in the world championship among the top twelve or have participated in the Olympic Games. — Be classified in the IGA championships among the top three. — Have been in the official ranking of the federation on a national, European or world level prepared at the end of the season of the call, among the three, eight or first, respectively (in the case of those federations that do not have an official ranking published, other documentation that is homologous according to the criteria of the instructor of the call may be taken into account). 2. The beneficiaries must meet the following requirements: a) Be an athlete born in Menorca or resident on the island for a minimum of two years, and have obtained one of the sporting merits detailed in the previous section, and be 12 years old during the season to which the call refers. b) Develop a sport recognized by the Higher Sports Council (CSE), whether or not it is an Olympic modality. c) Accredit the merits in the sports season to which the call refers. 3. In any case, the following cannot access the call: a) Athletes who have received a serious or very serious sports disciplinary sanction; administrative sanction in sports matters of a serious or very serious nature, or criminal sanction. b) Athletes considered professionals, according to the definition of article 21, professional and non-professional athletes, of Law 39/2022, of December 30, on Sports. Second. Purpose The purpose of the call is to support and collaborate in the preparation and participation of outstanding athletes from Menorca or residents on the island of Menorca, from the age of twelve in the season expressed in the call and considered outstanding athletes for their performances and classification, representing Menorca, the Balearic Islands or Spain in Spanish, European and World championships; or included in official national and international rankings, as well as participants in the biennial IIGA (International Island Games Association) competitions. All of this, with special attention to athletes who, fulfilling the previous point, are women, have functional diversity (adapted sport) or who are athletes who are in technical training centers and/or included in the list of high-performance athletes or high-level athletes. Third. Regulatory bases The call will be regulated with the regulatory bases approved by the Executive Council of the Island Council of Menorca, in an ordinary session on July 7, 2025. Fourth. Amount The maximum global amount of the call is €100,000 (one hundred thousand euros). The maximum amount that can be awarded per athlete is €6,000 (six thousand euros). Fifth. Deadline for submitting applications The deadline for submitting applications will be from the day following the publication of the call in the BOIB until August 31, 2025. Sixth. Other information The criteria for the aid of the call will be governed by the sporting merits achieved in the 2024-2025 season, between August 1, 2024 and July 31, 2025.
