Official description of the call
First: Object The Jaén Provincial Council convenes, under a competitive competition regime, the XXXV Annual Literature Contest for New Writers 2025. The Jaén Provincial Council highlights the institutional support for writers who begin this creative process, whether in narrative or poetry, promoting literary creativity and the dissemination of culture in its different manifestations, including the edition and dissemination of the winning works, both in poetry and narrative. Second: Participants Individuals who have reached the age of majority at the time of publication of the call in the Official Gazette of the Province, born or registered (with at least one year of seniority with respect to the call) in the province of Jaén, who present up to a maximum of one work per modality, with a free topic, written in Spanish, original and not previously awarded in any other contest, may participate in this contest. Those who have individually published more than one literary book with ISBN on paper or on a digital platform will not be able to submit works. Participations or literary collaborations made in magazines, journalistic media or collective publications are not included in this limitation, nor are translations of literary works. Third: Regulatory Bases Bases for Execution of the General Budget of the Provincial Council for 2025. Fourth: Amount Total amount: 7,000 ¿ Fifth: Deadline for submitting applications From the day following the date of publication of the extract of these bases in the Official Gazette of the Province of Jaén, until October 15, 2025 inclusive. Sixth: Other data of interest Eligible activities: The following prizes are established, which will be subject ¿if applicable¿ to the legally established withholdings: ¿Poetry modality award, endowed with 2,000 ¿. ¿Narrative modality award, worth 2,000 ¿. ¿Editing and publication of the winning works, valued at 3,000 ¿. Likewise, the Jaén Provincial Council will be responsible for the copyright of the publication of the first edition of the award-winning works, whose circulation will be 400 copies, of which 40 will be delivered to the author. This publication is an inseparable part, along with the financial award, of the prize or prizes awarded. The Provincial Council of Jaén reserves the right to publish the winning works in any system, printed, electronic, digital, or of any other nature, and may freely market and assign the aforementioned rights exclusively and without any limitation in favor of any person or entity, free of charge, when the nature of the prizes allows it. To this end, the request for participation will imply the transfer of the aforementioned rights by the authors. Compatibility: Yes Documentation: The documentation to be presented will be the following: ¿ Registration form, according to the attached model, which can be downloaded at https://sede.dipujaen.es/AyudaSubvenciones/Listado and https://www.dipujaen.es/conoce-diputacion/areas-organismos-empresas/areaC/cultura/literatura/ ¿ Title of the work and a brief resume of the author. ¿ Photocopy of the NIF and, if you were not born in the province of Jaén, the certificate of being registered in Jaén or of being a resident. ¿The works will be presented as an attachment in the generic application of the Electronic Headquarters of the Provincial Council of Jaén, without any identifying information, only title and pseudonym.
