Official description of the call
First. Beneficiaries All people of legal age who present plays written in the Galician language in accordance with the regulations of the RAG, unpublished, not awarded in any other competition or performed on stage in any show, may participate. Second. Purpose The purpose of these rules is to establish and regulate the call for the II Castelao Prize for Theatrical Texts of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra. Its objective is to encourage, support and improve the quality and creativity of writers, in addition to promoting the talent and literary potential of our province, as well as encouraging and remembering dramatic creation in the Galician language and the figure of the playwright Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao, and directly influencing the participation and promotion of the Galician language. Third. Regulatory bases Regulatory bases of the II Castelao Prize for Theatrical Texts of the Provincial Council of Pontevedra, approved by Presidential Resolution no. RP2026002381, of March 24, 2026. Bases for execution of the provincial Budget and other applicable legislation. Room. Amount A single prize will be awarded, worth twelve thousand euros (€12,000), charged to budget application 334.3340.480.01 of the ordinary Budget of the provincial body. The amount of the prize includes the acquisition of the exploitation rights of the first edition of the winning work of up to a maximum of 800 copies, as well as the digital edition of this for a period of five years. The winning work, through its corresponding contracting file, will be published by the winning publisher in its theater collection, and twenty-five copies of it will be delivered to its author. Fifth. Application submission period The submission period will begin the day following the publication of the extract of the call for this award in the BOPPO, through the National Subsidies Database, and will end on September 15, 2026. Sixth. Other information of interest The bases will be published in the Official Gazette of the Province of Pontevedra and at www.depo.gal. The topic on which the presented work will be will be completely free, but its development in a location in the province of Pontevedra will be valued. The works will preferably be presented in digital format, on a USB. If you choose paper presentation, the originals will be sent in duplicate, in separate copies, stapled or bound, and indicating the total number of characters. Payment will be made by bank transfer.
