Call for the XXVI Xesús Ferro Couselo Research Award

Official description of the call

1. OBJECTIVE The objective of these rules is to regulate the conditions of the XXVI Research Award in its two modalities of participation. 2. AVAILABLE BUDGET The amount allocated to this call will be 7,000.00 euros in prizes, the expense being charged to item 3340.48901. 3. COMPETITIVE COMPETITION The prizes inherent to this contest will be awarded competitively, after study and evaluation by the jury. 4. PARTICIPANTS Participating persons are considered to be natural or legal persons, as authors of the works presented, these being original and unpublished on the established topics. 5. MODALITIES AND CATEGORIES 1st MODALITY TOPIC The research works presented will be limited to the Galician field, within the specialty of Ethnography, Palegraphy, Numismatics, Archaeology, History or Art History. WORKS Each author can present one or more works. The works submitted must be written in Galician, be unpublished and have not previously won any prize in this contest or any other. The works must have a minimum length of 50 and a maximum of 300 pages. 2nd MODALITY In the 2nd Modality, the XXVI Xesús Ferro Couselo Research Award calls for 1 scholarship. TOPIC The projects will focus on historical, ethnographic studies or studies of relevant people from the Valga City Council. WORK The participants will present a reasoned script detailing: - The objectives that are intended to be achieved with the work. - The methodology that is going to be used. - The different phases of carrying out the work with the timing of each of the phases. - Any other content that is deemed appropriate for the evaluation of the project. 6. PRIZES 1st MODALITY: 4,000.00 euros. 2nd MODALITY: 3,000.00 euros. 7. DELIVERY DEADLINE The deadline for submitting works will be until April 30, 2025. 8. PRESENTATION The works will be sent to the Entry Registry of the Valga City Council Avda. da Coruña, nº14 - 36645 Valga (Pontevedra) The following must be submitted: 1. WORKS The works will be presented under the motto. 5 A4 size copies will be delivered, with Arial font type 12 and single spacing. 2. ESCROW On the outside it will contain the motto and on the inside it will include the name and surname, address, telephone number of the author. 9. AWARD PROCEDURE The City Council's Culture Commission will appoint the jury, which will be made up of the president, secretary and four specialists in the field of research. The secretary will have a voice but not a vote. The final composition of the jury will be made public on the Valga City Council website www.valga.gal and in the media. 10. COMPETENT BODY FOR THE INSTRUCTION AND RESOLUTION OF THE CALL The competent body to dictate how many agreements are required in the procedure will be the Mayor of the Valga City Council.
