1.- PURPOSE OF THE CALL: The Pontevedra City Council establishes this call for awards in order to preserve the cultural heritage and promote interest in the municipality's traditional cultural and festive activities. The purpose of these rules is to regulate the procedure for granting the prizes of the May contest during this year 2026, which will be held on May 1 starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Plaza de la Herrería. 2.- BENEFICIARIES: Legally constituted individuals, associations, entities and legal persons, as well as groups of natural or legal persons without personality, who meet the requirements established in these rules and register to participate in the contest may participate in the May contest. In the case of groups of natural or legal persons, a representative must be stated in the application, as well as the details of its members, who will be understood to assume the execution commitments and allocate the amount of the prize in equal parts, according to the attached model. All members are considered beneficiaries. 3.- REGULATORY BASES The granting of prizes that are the subject of these rules will be regulated by the provisions of the General Subsidy Ordinance of the Pontevedra City Council approved by the Municipal Plenary on September 17, 2004, and published in the BOP of Pontevedra No. 190 dated September 20, by Law 38/2003 of November 17, general on subsidies, by the Regulation that develops the previous one, approved by Royal Decree 887/2006, of November 17, and by Law 9/2007 on Galician subsidies, and other applicable regulations. 4.- AMOUNT OF PRIZES A total amount of €6,250.00 will be allocated to award the prizes for the Maios contest. Each contestant will receive a prize of 150 euros for their participation in the contest, unless the jury disqualifies them for not meeting the requirements set forth in these rules. In the event that the number of participants exceeds the budget allocation provided, the amount of the bonus will be reduced proportionally among the beneficiaries, so that the amount allocated for this purpose is not exceeded.
